Miss Nigeria Turns Traffic Warden On Independence Day

*EzinneWho would have expected an alluring damsel, especially a beauty queen to take on a toga of a ‘traffic warden’ on a special day as the Independence Day? This was exactly what reigning Miss Nigeria 2013, Ezinne Akudo chose to do to celebrate the 53rd Independence anniversary of the country.
Draped in jean pants  and a white T-shirt, underneath the orange and lemon ‘Traffic Wardens’ apron, she took her stand at the T-junction of Adeola Odeku,Victoria Island, directing  traffic.
According to her, choosing to control the traffic was a way of giving back to the society, in view of the fact that traffic remains  one of the major problems Nigerians still face at 53.
Explaining that the gesture was not a one-off thing she said she would continue on 10th of October with a car wash phase, where she would be on ground to wash cars for those who wish to patronise her and use the proceed thereof to support her pet project known as ‘Serve Nigeria’.

According to her, project ‘Serve Nigeria’ is her own way of combating sexual harassment in the society and the mission only became a passion for her after a friend of hers fell victim to rapists last year.
On ground to make sure she had a hitch free day as a traffic warden were the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Bar Beach Police Station, Mr. Fayoade Adegoke and two policewomen, Inspector Morayo and Corporal Abiola Khadijah
